  • Can you introduce yourself?

I am an artist using mediums like Virtual Reality or Mixed Reality, to create experiences that question the relationship between the spectator, the artwork, and the artist. I'm working in collaboration with Marie Losseau, a visual artist who build handmade 3D models, using woods and cardboard. I usually work in the motion-graphic design field, mainly for cinema and documentaries. So, "giving life to inanimate things" could be a good description of what I do.

  • Can you present your project?

ATLAS is a mix between an exhibition of handmade models, an experience (using Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality) and a performance (one of the artists interacts with the spectators). Spectators are invited to build entire cities. For that, they have a « seed launcher ». Each launch will make a house grow, between the real world and the virtual world... The growing houses follow some urbanistic rules, they adapt to their environment: cities in the cloud, uprooted cities, cities on stilts, flying cities…

  • What do you expect from this residency?

In this residency, I would like to collaborate with experts in the field of Mixed Reality and explore this new medium with their help and their experience. I would like to develop the prototype of the Mixed Reality application (for Microsoft Hololens) with their support. The location of the residency (the Oxford Brooks University) is a plus, being surrounded by specialists and equipment in connex areas (machine learning, computer vision, audiovisual...)
